Town Hall Meet - December 2012 @ ASPH

Like every month, We had our December month's Town Hall Meet on 24 December' 2012. This time the content of the meeting was revised into slightly different format. The Topics were enlightened with relevant videos and pictures. Few extra topics were also added this time.

Overall it was awesome and the audience enjoyed it.

Anil Madhok honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award

Anil Madhok, Managing Director – Sarovar Hotels Pvt. Ltd. has been felicitated with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the Hotelier India Awards in Delhi-NCR. The award recognized Madhok's experience and expertise in hotel conceptualization and operations. The Hotelier India Awards celebrates excellence in hospitality, worked with a jury of well-known and seasoned hospitality professionals.

Anil Madhok started his career with Oberoi Hotels. After a long association of three decades, he turned entrepreneur and set-up Sarovar Hotels in 1994. Over the years the Hotel Management Company has grown from strength to strength, with a domestic presence of 60 hotels across 40 destinations today. The Company also operates 3 hotels in East Africa. Another 20 projects are at various stages of development and the Company aims to be a 100-hotel chain by 2020.

Team Building Activities @ ASPH

On 25 December 2012, I conducted a series of Team Building Activities for our employees. The activities were learning based through fun. 

01. Guess my Mobile Number – This activity was basically conducted to make participants realize about Planning, Team Work, Efficiency, Creativity, Time Management and Coordination.

02. Bite Me – Learning from this activity were about Flexibility, Creativity and Efficiency.

03. Don’t Blow the Joker - Learning from this activity were about Having patience, Setting Goals and Planning.

04. Face the Cookie - Learning from this activity were about Concentration at Work, Creativity and Team Goals.

Participants had lots of fun throughout the activity sessions....

Qutub Shahi Tombs in Hyderabad

The tombs of the seven Qutub Shahi rulers in the Ibrahim Bagh are located close to the famous Golkonda Fort in Hyderabad, India. The tombs were once furnished with carpets, chandeliers and velvet canopies on silver poles. During the Qutub Shahi period, these tombs were held in great veneration. But after their reign, the tombs were neglected until Sir Salar Jung III ordered their restoration in the early 19th century. A pretty garden was laid out, and a compound wall was built. Once again, the tomb-garden of the Qutub Shahi family became a place of serene beauty. All except the last of the Qutub Shahi sultans lie buried here.

Golkonda Fort in Hyderabad

Golkonda, a ruined city of south India and capital of ancient Kingdom of Golkonda (1518–1687), is situated in west of Hyderabad. The most important builder of Golkonda was Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah Wali, the fourth Qutub king of the Qutub Shahi Dynasty. 

They laid out Golkonda's splendid monuments. They ruled over most of present day Andhra Pradesh before the British Raj. After transferring Northern Circars to British, they ruled the Telangana region and some parts of present day Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Myself and one of my friend recently visited the Golkonda Fort. It was amazing to see the ruined monuments, Darbars, Halls where kings use to rule over the years.

Popular Singer Mr. Hariharan at our Hotel ASPH

It was 23rd December 2012, we received one very important guest in our lobby. The guest was none other than Mr. Hariharan, the popular singer in India. He is famous for his unique singing style and magical voice, his favorite songs includes gazals and modern songs.

He was in City for a concert which was organized in Chowmahalla Palace, near to Charminar.
