Story of a Medical Discovery !!

It is obvious to see while visiting a doctor that most of them will have hanging on their neck and that is 'Stethoscope'. It is an acoustic device to listen to the internal sounds of the body, especially the heart sound, the breath sound and the bowel sound.

Do you know how it was originated in real?

Dates back in 1816 and the credit goes to renowned French doctor Rene Laennec for this great invention.

Doctor Rene Laennec was extremely shy to bring his ear closer to the chest of his patients and at times he felt more embarrassed to do so. To avoid such awkward situation he tried discovering something which will allow him not to bring his ear closer to the patient's chest.

And he created a cylinder 30 cm long for the purpose; it was indeed the first "Stethoscope" in any form. Of course we in modern times, the stethoscope has taken its revolutionary changes in appearance.

Decide when to jump !!

Many of us interestingly have undergone a situation in life where we wait for the right time to take decision, be it personal or professional. Some are proactive to think and decide instantly and move on, but a biggest number of people do exist who wait for the right opportunity. Although there is a saying that "Slow and steady wins the race", yet I believe that when decision taken at the right time for the given circumstances it wins the life.

Let's give an example..

Put a frog into a vessel fill with water and start heating the water.

As the temperature of the water begins to rise, the frog adjust its body temperature accordingly. The frog keeps adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water. Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog cannot adjust anymore. At this point the frog decides to jump out. The frog tries to jump but it is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature. Very soon the frog dies.

Now the question is what killed the frog?

Think about it!

I know many of us will say the boiling water. But the truth about what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when to jump out.

We all need to adjust with people & situations, but we need to be sure when we need to adjust & when we need to move on. There are times when we need to face the situation and take appropriate actions.

If we allow people to exploit us physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually or mentally they will continue to do so.

Let us decide when to jump! Let's jump while we still have the strength, before it's too late.

Never argue with fools !!

There are many circumstances we come across in our daily life, which triggers frustration irritation, however it makes us remain calm and wise as well. In few such situations, you might have experienced some of your colleagues or friends or any designatory person argues with you for no valid reason like a fool.

What do you do then? Do you react? Or do you avoid? Or you handle it in much wiser way? What should you do?

Interestingly I was ready a short story and felt it more resonate with the topic today.

Let me share the story to you all. It is the story of the Donkey and Tiger.

Once on a casual interaction in the forest the donkey told the tiger: ′′The grass is blue".

The tiger replied: ′′No, the grass is green".

The discussion became heated up, and the two decided to submit the issue to arbitration, and to do so they approached the lion, King of the Jungle

Before reaching the clearing in the forest where the lion was sitting on his throne, the donkey started screaming: ′′Your Highness, is it true that grass is blue?".

The lion replied: "True, the grass is blue"

The donkey rushed forward and continued: ′′The tiger disagrees with me and contradicts me and annoys me please punish him".

The king then declared: ′′The tiger will be punished with 5 years of silence".

The donkey jumped for joy and went on his way, content and repeating: ′The grass is blue"...

The tiger accepted his punishment, but he asked the lion: ′′Your Majesty, why have you punished me, after all, the grass is green?"

The lion replied: ′′In fact, the grass is green".

The tiger asked: ′′So why do you punish me?"

The lion replied: ′′That has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green. The punishment is because it is not possible for a brave, intelligent creature like you to waste time arguing with a donkey, and on top of that to come and bother me with that question".

The worst waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who doesn't care about truth or reality, but only the victory of their beliefs and illusions.

Never waste time on discussions that make no sense... There are people who for all the evidence presented to them, do not have the ability to understand, and others who are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment, and the only thing that they want is to be right even if they aren’t. When ignorance screams, intelligence shuts up. Your peace and tranquility are worth more.
