In today's time you must be surprised to know that once upon a time during British Era of 1887, Indians needed a permission to be allowed to take a seat while waiting for a British Officer.
The document was called 'Kursi Nashin' (see the image below). It was believed that without this permission slip no Indians were allowed to meet the officers and it was followed very strictly.
But, today Indians do not need any permission such to meet any officers. Above and beyond today Indians got freedom to sit wherever they want, on roads, highways and even on top of the Red Fort..
