Visit to Vellore Golden Temple

Yesterday (17-04-2011, Sunday) I had a visit to Vellore Golden Temple along with one of my Junior Colleague. We left room at 6:00am in the morning and reached vellore bus stand at 9:45 am, from there we took another city bus towards Sripuram, where the Golden temple is situated.
Vellore is just 220 Kms away from Bangalore and 170 kms from Hosur and Sripuram is just 7 kms away from Vellore City.

This Golden Temple worships Goddess Lakshmi. We came to know from the local source that approximately  Rs. 600 Crores are spent to make this Golden Temple, added to this more than a tons of Pure Gold are used to make this temple. The main temple is fully covered with pure gold. The entire temple boundary is structured like a five pointed STAR.
While entering into the queue in STAR, there was the idol of Maa Durga with her companions (as famous in Bengali Durga Puja).
The temple timings are 8:00am to 8:00pm.
