Celebrating Staff's B'day & giving away "Best Employee of the Month" Award

Like every month, this month also we celebrated our staff's birthday on 23rd July' 2011. And also we have given away the awards for "Best Employee of June'2011" to Mr. Mani of F&B Service Dept. and Mr. Mohan of Engineering & Maintenance Dept. 

Best employees were given with certificates and a cash of Rs. 1000/- each by our General Manager Mr. Ranjeesh P. Kavil

Your Trouble Tree..........A Nice Stress Reliever Story...

The Trouble Tree

A bad day started………

The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farmhouse had just finished a rough first day on the job. A flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric saw quit, and then his old pickup truck refused to start.

While I decided to drive him home, he sat in deep silence. On arriving to his home, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked towards the front door he paused fully at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands. When opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation. His depressed face was replaced with smiles and with a fascinated affection he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.

Afterward, he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.

He replied, “Oh, that's my trouble tree". He added, “I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing is for sure, troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home. Then in the morning I pick them up again."

“The funny thing is," he smiled, “when I come out in the morning to pick them up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before."

Everybody needs a trouble tree...

Few days back my young friend in early 30s had a heart attack. It is not actually the stress and pressure that kills us. It is how we chose to react it to the stress and pressure. Our families and especially innocent children are our safety valves.

No amount of money, perks or power can compensate or value their happiness and smiles.

Here "I" is a fictitious character, but I feel that this "I" is all of us, we have to be like that carpenter to value our life....

Nice Dining Experience @ Flame & Grill, Kolkata

On 10 July' 2011, I went to "Flame & Grill" at Park Street, Kolkata along with my best friends Abir and his wife Chaity. It was a wonderful dining experience there. 

The dining area, service, Theme & Decor and the most was the wide ranges of starter offered in the menu, which was inclusive in the buffet price. The marketing strategy is somewhat different, they serve unlimited starters to the guest, whether it is Chicken based, or  Mutton, fish, Prawn based, or even vegetable based also. 

The special attraction is every dining table has a center in built grill with charcoal and iron grid, on order of starters the waiter brings the skewed starters and place on the hot iron grid, which is at the center of the dining table.

The waiters will serve you until you are getting tired of having the starters, and proceeding for the buffet...

All the foods were yummy and tasty according to their regional varieties.

During the course of meal we had an interaction of their Manager (Name forgotten), he said they have other specialty restaurants brands across India  - "MAINLAND CHINA", "Oh ; Calcutta", "MACHAAN", "Sweet Bengal", "Mostly Kababs" and "JUST BIRYANI"......

A Lesson for Every Salaried Employee

A Shopkeeper watching over his shop is really surprised when he sees a dog coming inside the shop. He shoos him away. But later, the dog is back inside again. So he goes over the dog and notices that it has a note in his mouth. He takes the note and it reads “Can I have 06 soaps and a shampoo bottle, please. The money is with the dog.”

The shop keeper looks inside the dog’s mouth and to his surprise he noticed that there is a 500 rupees note in his mouth. So he takes the money and puts the soap, shampoo and the change in a bag, and then places it in the dog’s mouth.

The shopkeeper is so impressed and since it is the closing time, he decides to follow the dog. The dog is walking down the street, when it comes to the zebra crossing; he waits till the signal turns green. He walks across the road till the bus stop. He waits on the stop and looks up the timetable for the bus. The shopkeeper is totally out of his mind as the dog gets into the bus and sits on a vacant seat. The shopkeeper follows the dog. The dog waits for the conductor to come to his seat. He gives the change to the conductor and shows him the neck belt to keep the ticket. The shopkeeper is almost fainting at this sight and so are the other people in the bus.

The dog then moves to the front exit on the door and waits for the bus stop to arrive, looking outside. As soon as the destination stop comes, he wags his tail to indicate the driver to stop. Then without even waiting for the bus to stop fully dog jumps out and runs to a house nearby. It opens a big iron gate and rushes towards the door. As it approaches the door, he changes his mind and walks towards the garden. The dog walks up to the window and creates a soft sound to indicate his presence and waits. The shopkeeper maintaining his senses walks up to the door and watches a big man opens the door.

The man starts beating, kicking and abusing the dog. The shopkeeper is surprised and runs to stop the man. The shopkeeper questions the man “What are you doing for God’s shake, this dog is a genius, he could be famous in life”. The man responds, “You call this Clever? This is the third time in this week that dog has forgotten the door keys”.

YOU MAY CONTINUE TO EXCEED ONLOOKERS EXPECTATIONS, BUT WILL ALWAYS FALL SHORT OF THE BOSSES EXPECTATIONS…..

DIGHA TRIP...............On my Birthday

DIGHA, a popular Beach Tourism of West Bengal, is always a holiday destination for all leisure and fun lovers. Although my home is just 45 kms away from Digha, I hardly visited the beach 15 times. The tourist attractions got changed time to time. The mode of transport also improved. There was one time when people can go to Digha from Kolkata or Howrah by Bus or personal vehicles only, now since last three years the rail route have been connected to add the easy accessibilty.

On my birthday, 08th July, Me and my friend Abir went to Digha in the evening. We both friends meet once in a year and we use to have outing and fun mostly by going to Digha. Here are few snaps of spent moments at Digha.
