Kolkata - the Cosmopoliton City

Kolkata, (previously known as Calcutta), a city of Joy, Capital city of West Bengal, an ancient city in India is a dream city of everyone. It is the second largest city in India. It was the former capital of India while ‘East India Company’ was ruling India. It is a heart-throb city of every Bengali.
It has been the witness of most famous tourist spots, such as Birla Planetarium, Shaheed Minar, Howrah Bridge, Vidyasagar Setu, Bali Bridge, Fort William, Marble Palace, Dakhshineshwar Kali Temple, Kalighat Kali Temple, Belur Math, Tram Transport, Maidan, etc. etc.
Kolkata is still being the famous for its yummy Rasogolla, tasty Bhapa ilish & aloo posto, savory Phuchka
Although it is said that Bengalis celebrate 13 occasions in 12 months, Durga Puja is being the great occasion of Festival Celebration for all Bengalis.
In my recent visit to Kolkata, I found that in-spite of having several reasons for joy, our Kolkata is getting spoiled with terrific increase of traffic jam day by day, which ruins the daily routine of every individual, and it also increases noise & air pollution. In today’s scenario where we are fighting against Global Warming, there is no hope of reducing such pollution which could be the main source of global warming. God knows what will happen to our beautiful city in future..
