FOSTAC Session on 'COVID Awareness & Action Plan'

It is now the third lock-down period we are going through in our country, all for a reason, to protect ourselves from the unseen virus. When the entire world is united to protect human being, we are not left behind too.

We are stuck in our home, yet communicating everyday with our team members and colleagues to understand the business pulse for upcoming days / months. Time is critical now, but the plan is not. Very first is to ensure our employees are well aware of the COVID related information and second is to take precautionary measure against it. 

Our team is time to time briefed virtually (which is the most effective mode of connecting the individuals at this point of time) on the new procedures to be in place in order to adhere the Hygiene and Safety guidelines for Guest Services..

Not only our General Manager and Departments Heads contribute to spread the knowledge through various sessions, but also the External Faculties were asked to sensitize our team members. 

This week we have organized a FOSTAC session on 'COVID Awareness Program and Action Plan' for our team members at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and HICC. The session was delivered by Dr. Pashupathi, who is FSSAI official and a Food Safety specialist appointed by Govt. of India. 

Dr. Pashupathi enlightened on most important measures which we must take for our guests in hospitality industry. 

It was an amazing session with important aspects touched upon.. Our team members got benefits out of it.

Quiz Competition for our Heartists of NHCC and HICC

We all know which situation we are currently undergoing, probably we did not ever think of today's scenarios would occur. But that is how the eco-system works. Today's world is much advanced and automated, but when the real time situation occurs none of such helps, instead the mankind reboots its own existence. 

Amid lockdown situation, when I was interacting with our departmental trainers over a virtual session, I was reminded of the quiz competition which was knowledgeable and how helpful it was for the Heartists.

Just before the national lockdown started we organized a 'Quiz Competition' for our team members of Novotel Hyderabad Covention Centre and Hyderabad International Convention Centre, in March' 2020.

It was the blend of our brand knowledge, loyalty information, hotel specific information and general affairs as well.

My First Podcast......Titled "Jumpstart Your Creativity"

Did not even think ever that I shall be recording my podcast for any reason. I have heard about this many times but did not show interest to listen or to do so, but here comes the moment where real time circumstances pushed me to learn how to make the podcast. 

Thanks to our Accor Academy India (Accor Hotels Corporate Division, India) for taking this initiative to push us adopting innovative way of learning things.

Interesting Story - Thinking in different way to get away with Success

It is the time when the entire world is undergoing a pandemic solution, the fear-failure-depression-anxiety arising in many people's mind. The world is heading towards a reboot system to have a new beginning. But the motivation remains same.

Once, I was reading an article and it caught my attention. Though to share in my blog. 

It is about the famous cricketer Ricky Ponting who has been among one of the greatest cricketers to have ever approached the game. The trait that made Ponting different from other cricketers was his sheer attitude towards the game. It was his never-say-die spirit. It is a revelation of that attitude. 

Someone once asked him the secret to his ability to find the gaps in the field. His answer was very simple, yet revealing. 

He said, "Every batsman surveys the field before taking strike and usually the fielders get imprinted on his mind. They can almost see every fielder in their mind's eye. but in my head, I don't see the fielders. I only see the GAPs!".

And that was his tally of runs shows made all the differences.

We could all take a leaf out of Pointing's book - 

 - Do not focus on the obstacles.

 - Look for opportunities

 - Focus on your ability to solve the problems.

Life in many ways is like a game of Cricket. There will be fielders out there who will stop you from scoring those runs. There will be an opposing captain who will try his hardest to place the fielders in a manner that will make it difficult for you to score those runs. Your job is to find the gaps and the gaps always exist. 

............

We always see a problem as obstacle in our life and we get stuck with that, we do not focus on the other side of the situation which can show us the way to recover ourselves.

Next time, you see a PROBLEM or an OBSTACLE, think the Pointing way. And see the gaps! No matter what, Success will be your's.

Find the gaps in these trying times, do not look at the obstacles. This too shall pass. Stay Safe and score more runs..

Welcoming yet another batch of New Heartists to NHCC..

Welcoming new Heartists is always being excited, it allows us to interact with the new talents, getting to know their experiences and curiosity. These moments keep me connected close to the new joinees while in orientation program. 

We welcomed recently a group of such talents to our hotel by the General Manager. Had the important sessions by our various HODs...

A team get-together moment...

Great things in business are never done by one person. They are done by a team of people. The strength of the team is each individual members.

With such a great team I feel proud to associated with; the team which stands together in both the good times and in tough times as well. This diverse team has showcased many extraordinary events which resulted in revenue numbers...

Today it was the time to take a quick break from our daily busy lives and spent a fun frolic moment with each other with a petit celebration... 

Awesome team NHCC....

Who is Happy | A nice story to reflect in our lives..

A crow lived in the forest and was absolutely satisfied in life. 

But one day he saw a swan. "This swan is so white," he thought,  "and I am so black. 

This swan must be the happiest bird in the world."

He expressed his thoughts to the swan. "Actually," the swan replied, "I was feeling that I was the happiest bird around until I saw a parrot, which has two colors. I now think the parrot is the happiest bird in creation." 

The crow then approached the parrot. The parrot explained, "I lived a very happy life—until I saw a peacock. I have only two colors, but the peacock has multiple colors." 

The crow then visited a peacock in the zoo and saw that hundreds of people had gathered to see him. 

After the people had left, the crow approached the peacock. "Dear peacock," the crow said, "you are so beautiful. Every day thousands of people come to see you. When people see me, they immediately shoo me away. I think you are the happiest bird on the planet." 

The peacock replied, "I always thought that I was the most beautiful and happy bird on the planet. But because of my beauty, I am entrapped in this zoo. I have examined the zoo very carefully, and I have realized that the crow is the only bird not kept in a cage. So for past few days I have been thinking that if I were a crow, I could happily roam everywhere."

From the above story what we can reflect in our lives? 

In this world we have to be happy with what we have got, we can strive to achieve the best but not by comparing with others. Everyone has their own stories in life, not necessary it needs to be visible.

Let's always be wise and be happy with what we have with us. The life will be meaningful..

Teachers Day Wish to all Trainers, Teachers, Facilitators...

Once Albert Einstein said, 

"The World as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It can not be changed without changing our thinking".

To change our life we need to change our thinking first. 

When students do well, we say that the student is brilliant, but when the student fails we say that the teacher is not good. 

Don't you think here the change in thinking is needed? 

Today on the occasion of Teachers Day, I wish all my teachers, trainers, facilitators who have taught me many lessons in my life to achieve enormous achievements and to my dear colleagues in same profession a VERY HAPPY TEACHERS DAY.

I have penned down to write my blogs again, after almost 14 months. These months have been very tighten for me to bind in some work or other which forced me to stay away from writing the blog. But I am back again....

DIgital Quiz Competition on "LCAH" for employees

Breaking the monotonous way of conducting Quiz Competition. In today's digital era, we tech-savy individuals who can't live without mobile, have organized a "Digital Quiz Competition" on Le Club Accor Hotels (Guest Loyalty Program by Accor Hotels) for our employees at Novotel-Ibis Chennai Sipcot. Lovely way of rehearsing the subject through Digital Quiz Competition.

Graduation Ceremony of New Gen Leaders 2016 Batch

Recently we have organized a Graduation Day for our two of New Gen Leaders who were undergoing the fast track development program for 18 months and finally they achieved their success. We organized the graduation day along with the hotel's Annual Day.

The parents were invited to be witness the event and can share their thoughts about the program which their kids were undergoing.
