Employee motivation has been a continuous challenge at work place all the time, especially in that work environments which don’t emphasize employee satisfaction. To keep the employees happy and productive the management has to look after all the employees in different way. The employer and employee relationship is not just getting work done. The relationship extends as family circle as the work activities goes on.

To get the work done in efficient way all the employees have to be felt that they are working for their own organization, where everyone’s contribution at work is meaningful and worthy and also without them the organization is incomplete. An organization may have so many sections and departments to run and manage, but without the employees organization can not run successfully.

There will be conflicts among employees and bosses, there may be unwanted situation affecting the quality of the organization, no matter what climate your organization provides to support employee motivation, you can, within the perimeters of your areas of responsibility, and even beyond, if you choose to extend your reach, create an environment that fosters and calls forth employee motivation.


It is mostly observed that the employees find interaction and communication with and attention from senior and executive managers motivational.

There are few points which increase Employee Motivation:

v Try to communicate daily with every employee who reports to you.

v A pleasant wish “Good Morning” to the employee make them feel valued.

v Meet with employees frequently to update them about the company information that may impact their work.

v Update them the customer’s feedback, product improvements, training opportunities.

v Explain the organizational structure to employees to know it better.

v Visit the work area of employees who are particularly affected by a change to communicate more. Make sure that the employee is clear about what the “change” means for their job, targets, timings and decisions.

v Hold periodic one-on-one meeting with each employee who reports to you.

v Encourage employees to come prepared with questions, requests for support, troubleshooting ideas for their work, and information that will keep you from being blindsided or disappointed by a failure to produce on schedule or as committed.

v Provide training to them as and when required, whether to update with technological changes or fill the knowledge gap.

v Communicate honestly and freely with the staffs, demonstrate them what exactly you are expecting from them and make them realize what the organizational goal is.

v Implement an open door policy for staff members to talk, share ideas, and discuss sensitive issues. Listen to their problems. And also make sure that managers/executives understand the problems which they can/should.

v Encourage and congratulate employees on personal issues like having new babies, planning for vacation trips, getting married, organizing events at work place.
